I've heard about Fanvids, but have no idea really what they are. Anybody willing to give a quick explanation for them?

Could anybody out there recommend what they consider great fanvids? Wincest/RPS preferred, but any that really made you sit up and take notice are good.

I second Carnival of Rust My favorite is Jesus Christ (http://astartexx.livejournal.com/62675.html) Dean's always been my favorite character, and Jesus Christ by Brand New is one of my favorite songs, but neither of this matters because this video is really something special. Its a GREAT AU story and will always be one of my favorites. Anything by secretlytodream is awesome, that vidder has a real gift.

let me rec my two fave SPN vids! They're set in early seasons, but MAN they are so perfect! Pretty much gen to my eyes:

Somebody's Child (http://sabaceanbabe.livejournal.com/264091.html) makes my jaw drop from the unbelievably perfect song/clip choice AND the technical wizardry--it's like watching 4 vids! at the same time! And each little window emphasizes the emotions of the song in a different way. Amazing.
