Demon Sam
Hi!
I've been in the mood to read fics in which Sam is a demon, shifter, etc., and though he is good/not evil, hunters still want to kill him because he is a supernatural being. John or Dean takes pity on him and they rescue him or refuse to kill him.
I would prefer fics that are not slash or Wincest, but I am open to reading them too. Long fics are my favorite :-)

Freak Camp: A Monster By Any Other Name (http://archiveofourown.org/series/5884)
The summary of the main story: The same old Sam/Dean love story, with a darkfic twist. Sam grows up in a concentration camp for monsters, and Dean is raised as an only child and a hunter. Together, they make each other human.
I need to find a few others (which I believe are also wincest) and I'll get right back to you when I have all my bookmarks sorted. So hard to keep track of all the stories I read.

Faceless (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/7478406/1/Faceless)
summary: When monsters become the pawns in a competition between humans and demons, Dean Winchester adopts a Faceless outcast named Sam who just might bring the broken Winchester family back together again. AU, John/Mary & brief Dean/Jo
It isn't quite your request but you might like it. :)
Also Honey and Flies (http://glasslogic.livejournal.com/32060.html) (this is wincest) by
summary: College students are turning up dead without a mark, and Dean heads west to investigate after the son of a friend is added to the growing list. But “dead” in this case may be a slight exaggeration. Dean finding the recently deceased chatting up a bartender on the wrong side of the tracks is just his first step into a mystery with roots much closer to home than he ever could have imagined, where all of the answers are confusing and the revelations just make things so much worse.
