Consorts are not necessarily hookers; sometimes they are 'kept' sexual companions. Kinda like mistresses.

Oh! Also, the spouse of a monarch is a consort, if the consort will never be allowed to take the throne (in the event of monarch death).

How's that for an interesting combination: hooker, mistress or royal spouse. LOL!
