Understanding/forgiveness of Castiel/Sam's addiction

#1 Does anyone know of a story which involves Sam understanding and/or forgiving Castiel for his actions because he knows what it's like to be hopped up on a sort of power-drug? I figured that Sam's addiction was mishandled because nobody really understood it, but now they have the experience to do better.

#2 Can anyone recommend a story where Sam's addiction is handled properly in the first place? (Since it's kinda hard to have an intervention for an angel... Although that would be cool too, if it exists!)
