General Search: Historical AUs & Bodyswap/Genderswap Fics

I've recently fallen in love with historical aus like compo67's The Shortest Distance and tabaqui's South China Sea. If anyone has favorite historical fics to share, or knows of rec lists I could peruse, I'd be more than grateful.

Also, there've been a couple genderswap requests lately, but with specific caveats I don't share. Are there any more faves lurking out there? Or bodyswap, for that matter? I've never paid much attention to these before, but for whatever reason I'm finding them very fun now.

Gen, J2, Sam/Dean, or any Sam- or Jared-centric pairing are welcome, and I've got no real triggers or squicks except mpreg.

Here's a Sam/Dean 20's era, Depression fic, sorta. Super atmospheric and Cas is a cult leader. Standing on the Edge of Nothing (http://archiveofourown.org/works/488063) by JayTryfanstone. (I am trying to rec ones that are pretty realistic in their historicity, but this author has a fantastic Viking/shapeshifter/GOT-like J2 called Wolflord that is EXCELLENT.)

There's a couple WWII fics I like: Under a Vast Sky (http://archiveofourown.org/works/238393#main) by Harrigan and Through Mist or Open Sky (http://archiveofourown.org/works/435563) by Obstinatrix. There's a couple gender swaps I really like which I will go hunt down (maybe other commenters can help? Sam gets turned into Jackie in one and Dean becomes Karen in the other.) And a great J2 body swap.

I just finished Res Gestae, and oh my god. Tagging the fic to store on delicious felt like a betrayal, because the tags make it look like crack and it is NOT. What a wonderful story. Reading the timestamps now!

As for body and gender swap, this has both:

Change my Life Again by Eugara on A03. Sam/Dean. Wincest. Season 8. All Sam wants to do is take a tiny break for his brother's birthday, but a case that Dean refuses to pass up and a run-in with a cursed sword sends the Winchesters Quantum Leap-ing through other people's lives. Sam just wants to get back to their own bodies. Dean bets Sam Beckett had a much easier time of it.

And bodyswapping a la Quantum Leap, this one is wonderful!

Until You're Resting Here by nyxocity on A03. Jared/Jensen. J2 AU. Jensen is much like Sam Beckett, leaping through time into bodies that all interact in some way with Jared.
