Clowns, suicide attempt and insanely protective Dean

Hey all,
This is my first ever post here but I've been following this community for a LONG time and seeing as how just about every story is found, I figured I'd try my luck.
I have 1 specific fic and two non-specific.

1 (specific): I read this fic a long time ago and didn't save it. Anyway, John give sam the ultimatum of going to stanford. Sam chooses not to go and gets very depressed and at one point turns to self harm. Can't remember if it was attempted suicide or just pain relief. Anyway, dean (or john) finds out and I can't remember past that.
P.S. It's not 'Letting Sam(sammy?) go', but it's similar and I recommend that to everyone.

2. Any fic where ADULT sam has an encounter with a clown and has a dramatic reaction (panic attack or worse)

3. Any fic with an insanely protective Dean like in  Heart's Desire

Oh and Slash_Demon- I'm glad you liked Heart's Desire. My story Sounds of Silence inspired that story. In Sounds of Silence- Dean kidnaps Sam because Sam doesn't like Dean's plan to save him. My friend liked that part and wanted me to write a story where Dean was much more protective with Sam - so that's where the idea of Heart's Desire came from.

So if you want to try out Sounds of Silence- I'll leave the link- though Dean's not as intense as he is in Heart's Desire.
Sounds of Silence- Summary- S3- A hunter learns Sam maybe a threat, so he kidnaps Sam and disables him, so that he’s not useful to the demon side. Sam may be able to use the disability to save Dean from his deal. Limp Sam, Protective Dean.

LOVED IT!!! I don't usually go for disabled!sam fics but this ones great.
Also, Kudos for Heart's Desire. I read it MULTIPLE times. KEEP WRITING :)

Unfortunately that's not it. I should have given more detail. Sam cuts himself I think just a few months after the ultimatum and it's detailed.
That an awesome fic though, it's going straight on my faves list
