Okay fandom, here is your chance to convert me to your pairing(s). I'm open to everything, be it het, slash, femslash, or a rare pairing. Hold on, not so fast! There are a few conditions. First of all, I am a lesbian, so m/m sex does not sell in this case. I will read a fic with sex in it but only if it's not the main part of the story (unless it's played up for the lulz). Also, I'm very picky about characterization and grammar. Oh, and no crossovers please because I probably haven't seen whatever it's crossing over with. This. You must read this. It doesn't matter if a person has never read slash before or thinks the idea of Sam/Dean is nasty (or even if they've never even seen the show!) - this one will show you why so many people ship it. The characterizations are so ridiculously perfect and I just can't say enough good things about it. (Just have a box of tissues handy.)

Anything Worth Dying For (http://archiveofourown.org/works/7500) by Waldorph Is Dean/Castiel. Fantastic and everything I've ever wanted in a Dean/Cas fic. There is one graphic Dean/Cas scene but it isn't unecessary, and it just *fits*. I can't really say more that won't give away how the story goes. Truly Epic.

My automatic rec. Very little slash so far (it's a 120k+ [so far] WIP), great characterization, amazing writing, etc.

Also, ratherastory has amazing characterization (but is gen for the most part--I'm not sure if you've been gen up until now and are familiar with the fics, or if you only like pairing fics or what, but I love her stuff.)

found one that takes the Sam/Dean thing really slowly and organically. Follows the boys throughout the whole 2nd season and is very close on the canon story.
First chapter kind of jumps into it, but otherwise it goes really slowly and realistically.
