Specific J2 AU story.
Jensen is a bartender, and the standing rule with him is that no one has ever gotten his phone number. Guys, girls, doesn't matter. He never gives anyone his phone number to a customer, but none of the people who know him have ever seen him with anyone, so it's a mystery why he doesn't.
Then they introduce Jensen to Jared.
Jared and Jensen flirt for a while before the end up going upstairs from the bar to fuck in Jensen's apartment.
When they come down, it's revealed that the two of them have been in a long-distance relationship, and Jared is the reason Jensen never gives out a number.
