Specific J2 slave!Jared cop!Jensen fic

I've been searching for this fic for hours and it's driving me nuts, so I was hoping someone here could help me out.


One of the things that I remember most clearly about the fic was that Jensen, who I'm almost positive was a police officer, rescued Jared, a sex slave, from his abusive owner (Jensen's neighbor, perhaps?) who left him to freeze to death on his porch as some sort of punishment. After that, Jared remained in Jensen's custody although I'm pretty sure there was a point where Jared was briefly taken away from Jensen for legal reasons (so he could be resold again maybe? I can't quite remember). Jared and Jensen had a sexual relationship and I'm also fairly sure that Jared was underage in the fic. I'm also pretty sure that the fic was posted on livejournal (if it's been crossposted somewhere else, I don't know of it at least). If anyone has any ideas, I'd be extremely grateful!

Jared is not a cop in this, and Jensen is the slave but it sure sounds a lot like, "Cold Snap" by bertee. You can find it here:
