These days I'm into fics where life it self screws the boys over. Where natural causes, bad genes, sudden illnesses (and less than stellar health care), are the reasons for some major h/C. Disabilities! Sickness! Permanent (or long lasting) disability is ok. Magical solutions to problems (or experimental cures that could just as well have been magical, but the magician wears a white coat and has a medical degree....), are frowned upon.
A good helping of blind and/or deaf is allways appreciated.
No deathfics please.

- "Dean has asperger's au" by jennytork. The first story, Shutting Down, was written for this hoodietime prompt: Stanford-era, please: Dean's always had some sort of illness (autism, epilepsy, cystic fibrosis, depression, go nuts) and when Sam walked out on them, Dean was left mostly on his own. At the college, Sam gets the call from John/Bobby/whoever that Dean's in the hospital and maybe dying. Guilt, schmoop, and love follows.

- "The Fusion verse" by ratherastory.
The one where "Dean fucks up his knee one too many times and either has to amputate or fuse it, so he chooses to have it fused." Also Sam-comes-back-from-hell in a less than stellar condition and life changes a lot for both.
