Gen Search: Sam saves the World

I'm searching and searching and finding nothing. So please help a desperate Sam-Girl to find a few stories in which Sam Winchester play the major role in saving the world. In most stories it's Dean for some reason and when Destiel is a topic in the fic, Sam can be lucky to have a few sentences. Does anyone know Sam-saves-the-world stories?

I don't mind pairings or the length. Can be the apocalypse, later, earlier in the series or completely something else, I just want to read some fic's in which Sam is giving credit.

So please, can you help me?
I will read everything, but Dean = Michael stories.

It's kind of depressing that there aren't an automatic handful of suggestions... :)

The only 'Sam saves the world' fics I know of tend to be the ones where Sam is the benevolent Anti-Christ with Dean at his side in varying roles.
There's this golden oldie everyone knows - The incestuous courtship of the antichrist's bride (http://fleshflutter.livejournal.com/102268.html) but nothing else springs to mind. Try checking the demon!Sam, powers!Sam, smart!Sam tags maybe?

As a fellow Sam-girl, I just have to rec And This Great Blue World of Ours (http://vail-kagami.livejournal.com/132992.html) by vail_kagami, even though it does deal with (possible story spoiler)

It's an apoca!fic with Sam/Castiel friendship, and a Sam-saves-the-world fic, and most definitely a Sam-given-credit fic, showcasing his strength and determination not to give up even when the odds are so clearly stacked against him (in fact, pretty much all of vail's fics are Samgirl-friendly).

This fic is no light piece of reading (heed the warnings), and I personally ended up bawling my eyes out on more than one occasion, but it's all worth it. The characters are spot-on, the worldbuilding is amazing, and the story is a work of absolutely mindblowing intensity that just grips you by your heart and refuses to let go.

I was looking at the apocafic tag and saw your post - and saw you like late replies. I just finished reading http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3424898/4/When-Heroes-Go-Down-They-Go-Down-Fast


It is great, and Sam does save the world. The characters in this were great, I cried a few times. And I think Sam was really complex and well done.
