LF Sam and Dean story (missing Sam) & J2 wip

Hello, I'm looking for a story where Sam leaves the hotel room one morning and just disappears.  I can't for the life of me remember the title/author and I know I will kick myself once someone (hopefully) tells me what it is.  It's a really famous story and very sad.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Also while I'm here there was a wip a while back that was J2, Jared was a bodyguard for a little boy and Jensen was the captain of a flying ship.  Jensen's crew included Chris and Steve and Chris didn't speak, Steve would kiss him and take his words that way (or it may have been vise versa).

No no one recognised it :( it was really good too, but only about 2 or 3 chapters were released. It was on one of the coms I subscribe to so I think it's probably abandoned anyhow, still maybe one day. ...
