Castiel Saves Sam for Dean

Hi, I just read Absolution by wolfling and omphalos, and I was wondering if there are any other stories like that out there.

Basically, what I want is to see Cas making a sacrifice to save Sam, because he knows how important Sam is to Dean. The sacrifice can be anything, falling from grace, losing his wings, or literally taking a bullet/knife on Sam's behalf. Similarly, I don't particularly care what it is that Sam is being saved from. It may be a demon, monster, curse, or even his own addiction to demon blood.

All I want to see is,
a) Castiel making a personal sacrifice for Sam because he knows how much Dean loves his brother
b) Dean's gratitude afterwards.

Thanks in advance! :)

Hi there, if you're still looking for fills for this and don't mind a WIP, Not Exactly Ovid (http://archiveofourown.org/works/516521/chapters/911662) seems to be shaping up to the kind of thing you want. It's only seven chaps (38k words) so far, but it's really good and updates fairly fast.
Summary: Castiel makes a sacrifice for Dean to save Sam from the Cage, but is unable to save Adam. As the Winchesters try to free their younger brother, they have to deal with a community of hunters that holds them responsible for the near-Apocalypse. Attempting to stay off the radar, they turn to a Phrygian goddess who ends up complicating an already complex situation.
