Sooooooooo I recently found some Fic *shifty eyes* that I was surprised I liked so much *koff*. And these are not fics that my LJ nearest and dearest would be like "OH! I wanna read that, too!" And that's what I'm looking for: Those fics that you found, followed a delicious list, or read/made some anon prompt over at spnkink_meme.

and clearly anonymous commenting is on so, we can all most of us *ahem* can keep our secret favorites our secret favorites.

If you do not appreciate the subject matter, you don't really have to tell me. The post was approved by the MODs and I think the tags speak for themselves. I'm not saying I condone any of the subject matter but that's the point. If I can't search for fic in a Fic Finding Comm, by all means, re-direct me.

I have a disturbing content tag on my delicious. I'll read a lot of stuff that's a little awkward to admit but this stuff while it's not neccesarily stuff that's worse than some of the other things on my delicious, it's stuff that when I read it it made me flail my arms, cover my eyes, clutch my aching heart or stomach and in some cases stop reading before I eventually ended up back there.

I'm always happy when people raid my delicious because I know when I was first starting out in this fandom that's how I pretty much exclusively found fics, so it's nice to know that I can give back and be that resource for other people. :)

I'm not trying to 'spoil anyone's fun', but what's with all the highly disturbing content that's being posted here recently? Mods, to be honest, I'd really rather not see all this, and I'm sure other people feel the same! You realise this is exactly how journals get deleted and purged? I don't want to lose this comm just because some people enjoy horrific kink.

While I think that if you are disturbed by it, you can always not-read the request, I also agree with you on the highly disturbed ideas some call 'kink'. I admit I read some of those, and I can't even say why exactly, because I usually feel so bad that I need a shower afterwards. what disturbs me most is the sentence "and he's enjoying it!", indicating that well, of course, if a minor enjoys that, it's ok.

There is kink and then there is rape. Calling it non-con or dub-con doesn't make it any less wrong, bad or illegal. Not even starting about underage-rape!

And to the anon: I really, really don't think the 'disturbing' sickle had in mind is written by anyone who was traumatized. There are different fics that might have been, and are disturbing, but you'd certainly be able to see the difference between those and what some might call 'kink'.
And I kinda think that that's not what she meant (could be wrong about it, though)

While I understand your concern for the general well being of the Comm (because, it is a handy place to search) the MODs are aware of what the TOS are and how to navigate entries. They don't approve every entry. If they don't, they tell the poster why.

If you don't agree with the tags that are on display, don't go into the post any further. I was pretty clear in the request that they were not your happy shiny rom-com fics. But I didn't ask for the stories people didn't agree with. I assume that if someone doesn't agree with subject matter they don't hunt down the subject.

I understand that not everyone agrees with prostitutes or drugs or physical violence. I'm not saying I condone any of the tags I put. But that was the point. If I can't come to a fic finding comm to find a fic, please give me my other options.

While I understand and can sympathize with your concerns/feelings of offense I think that the important thing to remember is that this type of comm is like a library. When someone goes into a library the have the choice to read works by the Marquis de Sade or the Story of O etc or they can choose to bypass them. Whether each individual chooses to read them, however does not mean that the library will throw those books out because there are others who will choose to read them for a variety of reasons understanding that a work of fiction is not the same thing as real life and that what they may choose to read or enjoy in fantasy does not mean that they would accept those behaviours in real life. Rape fantasies etc are just that, fantasies.

I get what you're saying. Some of the works that have been produced since the kink memes started up really disturb me. I know we don't have to read it, but I still think it's taking it a bit far for any part of fandom to be about reading kink fic with prepubescent children

The kink memes are getting more and more out there as people forget to put any limits on themselves. There's a difference between getting off on a rape fantasy fic even, and treating child abuse as kink fic to get off on. And I'll admit I have read some of those fics, but I backed away because I don't think it's a healthy mindset to keep reading that stuff and requesting more and more of it to be written
