LF Secret Favorites
Sooooooooo I recently found some Fic *shifty eyes* that I was surprised I liked so much *koff*. And these are not fics that my LJ nearest and dearest would be like "OH! I wanna read that, too!" And that's what I'm looking for: Those fics that you found, followed a delicious list, or read/made some anon prompt over at [livejournal.com profile] spnkink_meme.

and clearly anonymous commenting is on so, we can all most of us *ahem* can keep our secret favorites our secret favorites.

Thanks!

ETA: Just to clarify, these are not happy shiny fics.
If you do not appreciate the subject matter, you don't really have to tell me. The post was approved by the MODs and I think the tags speak for themselves. I'm not saying I condone any of the subject matter but that's the point. If I can't search for fic in a Fic Finding Comm, by all means, re-direct me.

While I understand your concern for the general well being of the Comm (because, it is a handy place to search) the MODs are aware of what the TOS are and how to navigate entries. They don't approve every entry. If they don't, they tell the poster why.

If you don't agree with the tags that are on display, don't go into the post any further. I was pretty clear in the request that they were not your happy shiny rom-com fics. But I didn't ask for the stories people didn't agree with. I assume that if someone doesn't agree with subject matter they don't hunt down the subject.

I understand that not everyone agrees with prostitutes or drugs or physical violence. I'm not saying I condone any of the tags I put. But that was the point. If I can't come to a fic finding comm to find a fic, please give me my other options.

Sorry to over-react, I didn't mean to upset anyone. Honestly, the only subject that upsets me is child-abuse, but that's my issue. Thank you for putting up a warning, and I didn't actually think about the MODs approving it. My problem is, I do find the subject triggering - it makes me panicky. But you're totally right, I don't have to read it. There just seems to have been an abundance in the comm lately!
Thank you for arguing your point in such a mature manner, and I'm sorry if I stepped on any toes!

I didn't view it as over-reacting, just maybe better suited to be a PM to the MODs? I definitely didn't intend on starting a whole big thing by posting the search.
And I'm definitely not condoning child abuse in RL in any way shape or form. In my head I'd been picturing them as grown boys but boys was what the tag said.. *shrug*

And I think it's been on the upswing because of the Blindfold meme and the spnKink meme.

No, I'd say it was over-reacting, as I didn't have to comment, lol. My OCD goes into overdrive at any hint of a mention, really, its clearly not your fault.

Really?! Really?! You know, that does sound like trying to spoil other people’s fun, to me.

Don’t listen to squicker, sweetie. Everybody knows (or should) that fanfic all takes place in Pretend Land, not RL, and giving us Content Warnings is what tags are for.

*headshake* I’m not sure why some people feel the need to be the Everyone Must Only Enjoy My Interests police, but ignore them. Not everything you asked for is an interest of mine, so I only addressed the stuff you and I both like. Why is that so hard for some people to do?

At any rate, you’re fine, don’t listen to the ickle squicker, and I hope you enjoy at least several of the many fics people told you about in response to your search. *g*

it's fine. I mean, I can die of embarrassment for asking *shifty eyes* in the first place.

I mean, it wouldn't be fandom if someone didn't say something against it right?

You don’t have to die of embarrassment. Exploring possibilities and limits is what fiction is for, after all.

And it’s not just fandom (any/every fandom) that gets this reaction; some places still have book burnings. Yech!

I guess the Internet Generation still hasn’t learned when some communication should be done privately, or addressed to the correct person/s. *shrug*
