I don't think it would hurt for a little reminder of tagging or really what to tag for.
We don't want over tagging for the sheer reason it can A) Clog up tags that aren't necessarily related to the request and B) A long stream of tags can really mess with people's friends pages when they view them.
So what we generally ask is tag for what you
INSIST on not what you are ok with. So, if you have a general search for some Jared/Jensen cowboy stories. And you
INSIST on the pairing of Jared/Jensen and nothing else. Then tag that, if you're ok with whoever bottoms, if one is the cowboy and not the other or you're ok with short stories or long ones. State that in your request but
don't tag it as such, because if you state ahead of time what you are ok with then people will know.
Think of it this way. If you go searching through the
warning: abused!dean (emotional) and you click on a post that has it tagged but then you notice the comments the post received or the post itself has nothing specifically to do with the tag, you'd be kind of bummed out. Because it was something the poster was ok with but not a requirement for their inquiries.
So you see trying to follow this line of thought when tagging better improves the organization of the tags themselves and better help you find what you're looking for.
If you are confused with this feel free to leave a comment and I can better explain it to you.
If you need help with general tagging please refer to our
Sticky Post to help you. If you still need help or are confused with anything having to do with tagging please feel free to PM one of the mods (Which can be found on the sticky post) and we will all do our best to help you.
