I'm looking for a fic I read about Dean/Jensen being a mermaid that lures in sailors etc. for food while pretending to drown with tentacles attacking him and once the man is in his grasp Sam/Jared tentacles wrap around the man to take to their cave and eat him. I do know that they are mates.

Seems I haven't bookmarked this one, but I'm pretty sure the title had the word "water" in it, and it was on the order of 50 thousand words.

Looking for a specific fic where Jared is mugged (or tries to stop someone else from being robbed) on the way home from his office job. Jensen also works in the same office but is more senior. Following the attack Jared doesn't leave the house and doesn't tell Jensen how he is feeling. Think there's a part where the grocery shopping needs to be done but Jared can't face doing it.

Does it sound familiar to anyone?

I'd really love recs for fics that explore Jensen and/or Jared deeply, as characters, hopefully based on the way they seem to be through their work, conventions etc. It doesn't have to be depressing (though it's ok if it is). Just as examples, it can explore things like the dynamics of their relationship, or how Jared can be earnestly emotionally attentive and also prank Misha within an inch of his life, or how Jensen can be both shy and protective, or so silly and open with his feelings while also shy and invested in his manliness, you know, fic that look at ho they are as people .

Oh, and the stories don't have to be just a character study, plot is good! - just, you know - I want to recognize them in the story, the way I see them in convention vids and so forth, as complex people, not as tropes.

When people write them this way it's usually non-au, and I am personally more fond of non-au, but if there is au fic that's like this, it would be wonderful, wonderful to have, too.

I read this fic a long time ago, but basically Dean has someone show up with a child. This person explains that she can't be a parent to the kid any more. Leaves the kid with Dean, who has to explain it to his dad and such. They keep the child and later learn that the child's mother didn't have the best home life and I believe she ended up dying in a house fire. Dean was a teenager in this fic.
