Have you read anything by pdragon76 (http://pdragon76.livejournal.com/140504.html)? I'm pretty sure there are tearjerkers in there ...
(don't know why her journal is formatet so weird... )

And I can also highly recommend kinmonkey7 (http://kimonkey7.livejournal.com/tag/fic) for tear-inducing stories. There's A good man is hard to find (http://spn-gen.livejournal.com/287772.html?thread=843548) for example: Dean keeps his word, and ramifications scatter like salt shot. Secrets, liquor, and bad things. Whump, angst, and banter. Title borrowed from Flannery O'Connor. - hurt/comfort, hurt Dean, protective Sam and some angst. Dunno about John.
