Hmmm. I think Alternate Life might somewhat fit your description, if you haven't already read it. In the alternate life, Sam and Dean are not close at all. In fact, they despise each other. I think only canon Sam goes into the AU world, and takes the place of AU!Sam to try and fix their relationship. It's a gen fic.
