That'd be an awesome fusion, but I don't think I've seen any around. Hmm... Dean would probably become D'an, and Sam... probably would have to go with S'muel. Dean I think is 'flighty' enough for a green, and Sam a brown. Then again, no reason for there not to be gay dragons in a fanfic, aye? ::ponders on this for a while.::

Sam would tease him mercilessly for having "A giiiirl dragon!" And then hold it over his head when he gets a bronze, but Dean loves his little lady Impalath (who is *so* much cooler than Sam's Standforth) so he doesn't care at all!

Oh! And I forgot about possibilities for a J2 AU! Jared would definately have a green, whereas Jensen would either have a shy blue or a more reserved brown. For some reason I can't see any of the boys (Sam, Dean, or J2) having a bronze. Well... maybe John. Or Bobby. Just none of them seem to strike me as 'Leader' types, which it seems all bronze riders are.

I could maybe see Dean having the arrogance of a bronzerider but he would be too irresponsible to ever becomes a wingleader, something of a rebel in the making;)

*steps in* If you guys want, with your leading, and whatnot, I could write this. It'd take time, but, regardless, you'd have fic, and it'd be perhaps cracky/hot and rocking all in one? ^_^

I'd just have to go re-read these books to get the language and fully grasp the threads thing. Or I could go and rewrite the book, similar to what that ficcer who writes "Lord of the Storm" is doing? ^_^

See, I can absolutely see Dean as a bronze rider and Sam getting a gold. That would be very interesting. Or even with Jared/Jensen. I can see Jared as a Brown or Bronze going for shy blue or green Jensen.

Sam on a Golden does sound very much like fun!;) But I have just learned that there are some rules put up by the author of the books which forbids any explicit fanfic material written in her world, so no porn*headdesk* But even without that every story with this combination would be wonderful!

I've read that Anne McCaffrey doesn't allow fanfiction based on her works, so anyone writing it would need to be careful.

According to her site, she does now. However, she has set a bunch of rules and stuff, which are pretty much standard, but anyone who writes this might want to check them out anyway. (Especially the "p0rn0graphic sites being forbidden" thingie)

That's nice to know-Pern in particular is a fascinating place, though many of her books would make fun places to play.

But yes-what with the trouble on lj about the porn/fan activities, etc, and with her being formerly against fanfics, it's a very *wise* idea to check carefully.

You know, I had a slightly more -cracked- idea for a Dragonriders of Pern/Supernatural crossover lately, but I figured that no one would ever want to read it, so I never wrote it. (Not that I would anyways, but...)

Essentially, Sam was gonna wake up somewhere with no memories but be taken to a Hatching anyways and Impressing a little bronze dragonet named Deanth (since apparently in my mind, I decided that Dean died or something and his spirit decided to connect to Sam that way or whatever) that takes care of him.

Like I said, really...awkward and un-thought out, but still, it's nice to see that others think about odd combinations, too! And even though I don't like to read Wincest or anything...I might have to make an exception...

Personally, being a big Anne McCaffrey fan (way before I even knew who Jensen and Jared were)... I'd like to see someone write something shorter to begin with... (again my own personal opinion), but I think an AU Jensen could do the short story The Smallest Dragonboy alot of credit.

Or perhaps even an AU Jensen as Lord Jaxom and an AU Jared as his extraordinary white Dragon Ruth (Yes, you read that right).

I look forward to seeing what is written about the verse, considering the brilliant basis provided by to the ff writers, by Anne McCaffrey's incredible imagination and talent.
