John and Dean / Winchester Family fics  
Howdy,

I'm new to Supernatural fic, which is just slightly less daunting than coming into Harry Potter fic at the end of book 6, and I'm looking for some good recs.   

1.  Any story where Dean or even Sam have to take care of John when he is sick or injured.  

2.  Any good stories about John and Dean, while Sam is away at Stanford.

Sec-recs are more than welcome but no Wincest please.

2- Fire in the Hole (http://big-pink.livejournal.com/tag/fire), long gen story, imho one of the best stories about John & Dean while Sam is at Stanford (you don't need to read the previous stories in her verse to appreciate Fire in the Hole but i highly rec it, especially Red and Dazzleland) !

I'll third Fire in the Hole. :-) Another great one is Armistice (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3600641/1/Armistice) by may7fic. Wonderful development of John's relationship as father to an adult son who still needs him.
