tempestquill is writing an adaptation of "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" but it's not done yet. It's got Rosenbaum narrating the story!

Oh wow! I'm not the only one looking for a J2 version of Best Little Whorehouse in Texas!

Actually I've started writing a fic of this nature with Jensen as the Madame and Jared as the sheriff. *snicker*

My fave part is DEFINITELY the part with the "Japanese Sling Shot". *snicker*

When insanity struck me, it was about the time the Aggies(?) were going to be rewarded so I thought of Ackles as a "working girl" and Padalecki as the football player who falls for him. I need to read your fic because I can already hear Rosenbaum's voice replacing Gomer Pyle's.

This story, of course begins in 1973, and kinda ends there abouts in 1973 too. But like most good stories, the actual story might be quick in its pace, but the telling of it is usually considerably longer… At least that’s the way o’ things in Texas.

The Chicken Ranch, at the time, was being run by one of Miss Willie Jean’s favorites, chosen a few years back when she up and decided to retire. Of course this particular favorite wasn’t one of her girls, but one of her boys, which of course was another reason why the Chicken Ranch was kinda special. So the running of the Chicken Ranch was left to Jensen Ackles. That’s important, cause he’s part of the lovin’ in the story, and by lovin’ I mean lovin’ and not proprietary business.

The second part of the lovin’ in this story would come from Sheriff Jared Tristan Padalecki, my boss, and friend. A good lawman if ever there was one. Jared was the kinda fella that liked talkin’ things out, believed that it was best talking things out first. Of course when talkin’ didn’t work he was known to have quite a temper, like that time ol’ Mr. Taylor’s donkey sat down on Miss Janie Mae’s car. Jared spoke real kindly to the donkey, but like most stubborn creatures it was a real jackass. Well when talking didn’t work ol’ Jared pulled out his gun and fired a few shots in the air, and let’s just say the townspeople literally saw some haulin’ ass that day.

You might think that working for a man with a little bit a temper is hard, but Jared is a really good man, and take it from me, Deputy Michael O. Rosenbaum, times ain’t never hard when you work with a man like good ol’ J.T. So sit back a spell and get ready for a story about lovin’, scandal, heartache, fun, newsmen with really bad wigs, and the best little whorehouse in Texas!

He pulls up his favorite pants, the black with blue pinstriping, and then he carefully buttons up the pale blue shirt. He spares a glance in the mirror. He purses his lips, checks every angle in the mirror. He’s clean shaven, and looks fresh face and no one would ever guess he’s hedging on thirty. Not that it matters, he’s running the Ranch now, it’s not like he’s handling customers anymore, he’s managing his ladies’ conduct, and keeping some of the rowdy customers in line.

He’s learned a lot since Miss Willie Jean passed over the Chicken Ranch to him, managing the bills, keeping up with the finances, inflation, taking up with some of the charities in town without actually participating in most town business. It’s the respectable thing to do, and hell, he’s even made peace with paying double the tax of everyone else.

With a sigh he runs his thumb over his tongue before brushing it again his left eyebrow, then he flashes his reflection his most winning smile, straightens his shoulders, heads out of his room and downstairs. He passes a few of his ladies, and his boys, on the way down to the kitchen, and once in the kitchen the smells of good, down home cooking makes him sway on his feet. Miss Loretta is the best cook this side of Texas, and having her at the Ranch to help with the wily gentleman that sometimes come out is always nice. The woman can swing a rolling pin with the best of ‘em.

He steps into the dining room, where Miss Loretta is about to serve lunch. He sees most of his ladies and boys settling in, and he stands at his place at the head of the table. He clears his throat to gain their attention, and they all turn to look at him. He lifts his brow at the look of defiance he’s getting from Chris (and really this isn’t that surprising from Chris), and decides it’s time for a review of the rules.

It hasn't been posted yet, cause it's still in the works, but it's called "Texas has a Whorehouse in It!" LOL. Hope you enjoy the preview!
