I'm new to Supernatural fic, which is just slightly less daunting than coming into Harry Potter fic at the end of book 6, and I'm looking for some good recs.   

1.  Any story where Dean or even Sam have to take care of John when he is sick or injured.  

2.  Any good stories about John and Dean, while Sam is away at Stanford.

Sec-recs are more than welcome but no Wincest please.

Hello amazing finder people. I really enjoyed reading issue #1 of the "Supernatural: Rising Son" comic. So much better than Origins in every way. The first issue briefly mentions John losing a day job due to hunting and the family being tossed out of a fleabag motel and into the night 'cause he can't pay the rent. So, does anyone have any recs for fics with the family dealing with this sort of thing, homelessness, living out of the car with 2 kids or having to camp, squatting, standing in the foodbank line, John looking/begging for day jobs, etc.? Or how about fics dealing with how John had to start scamming so they'd be able to survive? Sam & Dean at any age and self-recs welcome. Something besides prostituting the kids is what I'm primarily looking for. Thank you muchly!

1. I'm looking for fics where Sam and John actually get along for a while. Where they've tried to stop fighting for Dean's sake or maybe they just discover they can actually be around each other without butting heads every five minutes.

2. Are there any fics out there where Dean has a list of things he wants to do before he dies/goes to hell? Maybe Sam finds it? Bonus points if he helps Dean carry them out!

I don't have a single story in mind, but my genre request is for a somewhat particular kind of story dealing with Sam and Dean's childhood and/or teenage years: I'd love to read pre-series stories in which the Winchesters somehow have to deal with or just come into contact with other characters on the fringes of society, not so much hunters but for example survivalists and such, or the white supremacists Agent Hendricksen suspected John to be involved with, like say when they buy weapons or while John is training Sam and Dean. And then the story for example explores how John would deal with his children being exposed to such extremist ideologies that he doesn't share (like black UN helicopter conspiracies or whatever) while also having to hide the real, supernatural reasons for their training.

I'd also rather not have the story depict John as an abusive parent. He doesn't have to be perfect or anything, but I dislike stories with outright John-bashing in general.

Oh, and I'm not into Wincest at all, but otherwise gen, het and slash are all fine with me. Though I suspect the kind of plot I'm looking for is most likely to be found in gen stories. But I wouldn't mind if for example there was a het or slash teenage romance featured either.

Because everyone here is soo wonderful at finding fics, I come barring requests!

The first one is a story I started reading a few months ago but then lost track of, it was a fic with wincest (Sam/Dean) undertones and Dean had gone to hell but come back as a demon and possessed Sam's body to be with him. He was like Ruby in that he remembered he was human, and still allowed Sam to control himself most of the time. From where I left off they were just about to go in search of his body. Also one of the parts had a Lord of the Rings reference to it :p

Secondly I'm looking for anything with a JP/MR pairing. Preferably something long, even with a bit of H/C would be great!

Um, I'm pretty new here and to the whole fandom (nearly of the fics I've read so far have been great, you guys are awesome!)  and I'm looking for any J2 fics that are really happy, have a fluffy maybe even romtic comedy type feel and most importantly have a happy ending! 

Although any fics are great for this request a few preferences of mine are; fics where one of the boys is famous and the other isn't, fics that include one of the boys being a little jealous and any hurt!Jared.

No drabbles please and the longer, the better :)

I'm come looking for a crossover fic which, really, is quite rare for me. Normally I don't like them, but an idea entered my mind a little while ago and I thought: "Huh, that'd be swanky."

So, being that I'm a complete NOOB when it comes to crossovers and have never looked for one, are there any Supernatural/30 Days of Night (movie) fics out there? I'd prefer gen for this, but I'm down with Wincest too. Self pimping is great too, by the way.

Also in that line of thinking, are there any good zombie fics? I'm talking classic George A. Romero type zombies, or even Resident Evil ones. Good ol' shot to the head to kill 'em zombies.

Bonus points for hurt!Sam and protective!Dean in these also.

Again, self pimping and Wincest is fine by me and I am virtually un-squick-able...
