Hurt!Dean podfics
Okay, since my last post worked so well...

I am looking for hurt!Dean podfics.  The hurtiest hurts of all.  Extra good karma for looooooong ones.

Het, gen, or sam/dean is all good.

(And if there are any just plain amazing podfics you'd care to recommend, please do!  As well as any fic)

THANK YOU!

Cast This Anchor audiobook (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/cast-this-anchor-audiobook) or regular podfic (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/cast-this-anchor) by [livejournal.com profile] iamstealthyone is great. So is Stigmata audiobook (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/stigmata-audiobook) or regular podfic (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/stigmata) by [livejournal.com profile] laytoncolt.

Actually, there's a bunch more at [livejournal.com profile] spn_gen_podfics under the "hurt/comfort" tag HERE (http://community.livejournal.com/spn_gen_podfics/tag/genre:hurt/comfort).

[identity profile] lsketch42.livejournal.com on December 31st, 2008 12:14 am (UTC)
No problem :)

And you know...*pokes you* would make me all sorts of happy to have the Drive Verse on my mp3 player...any plans?
[identity profile] roque-clasique.livejournal.com on December 31st, 2008 01:08 am (UTC)
actually... i was just wondering.. is it okay for an author to record her own fic? it seems kind of like self-reccing... which, okay, i am guilty of from time to time... ;)
but yeah. i was thinking about it.
[identity profile] lsketch42.livejournal.com on December 31st, 2008 01:17 am (UTC)
Woo! Well I know nothing about audiofic ettiquete, but considering I got the story from a self-rec and am now a Drive-verse stalker, I can't see a problem with it ;)

Actually, I would think it'd be beneficial, since you'd know the intonation and the emotion your characters were putting into their words.

No one has done podfic of [livejournal.com profile] big_pink's fic yet (probably because most of them are virtually novel-length multichaps), but she does have a website where you can find .pdf versions for printing out or reading all in one place. Have you read any of her fic? My favorite is "Red." I was thinking you would probably really like "Fire in the Hole," which takes place in the year after Sam left for Stanford and is heavy on angst and Dean!whump (he suffers a serious back injury) and a really messed up John. Big_pink is an exceptionally talented writer. Her stories are often written in multiple timelines and are complex and fascinating. She does lots of background research. "Fire in the Hole" has a lot of information about mining. The story is written in two timelines, one going forward and the other going backward. It's a demanding but extraordinary read. Here is her site where you can find all her fic in .pdf.

man i would kill if some of those were podfic.. the world needs more podfic!
[identity profile] roque-clasique.livejournal.com on December 30th, 2008 07:35 pm (UTC)
OKAY. so. Big Pink is my favorite author EVER and I've read all her stuff a thousand times and SOMEONE DID RECORD ONE OF HER STORIES.

In fact, I just posted again to storyfinders because I lost it. It's the first half of Fire in the Hole, and god, I want it so bad. If you see it, please let me know?

You're right. Fire in the Hole is my favorite - tied with Red. God, she's good.
[identity profile] riverbella.livejournal.com on December 30th, 2008 07:44 pm (UTC)
Yay! I'll keep an eye out for the podfic. I want to print out the whole Red 'verse with the art and authors notes and put it all in notebooks and sleep with it under my pillow at night. (Along with 'drive verse).

ION, I am knee deep in Beasts and Outlaws (at work, mind you--good thing the boss is sick and half the office is still on vacation!) and you were so right. It is riveting.
