I had read this fic a while ago but I just can't remember it. In the fic Sam and Dean are not related. Mary and John are Dean's parents and they are new in town. Sam is the poor kid in town with and abusive father. He has a little sister and a brother. Dean and Sam become best friends. Sam's father ends up working for John and almost kills Sam when he finds out that Sam and his siblings have been visiting Dean. I think there was also a scene where Dean walks in on Sam in school when Sam and sees the scars on Sam's body or something like that. If anyone can help me it would be appreciated!
