Best long, plotty RPS podfics please!
I just finished Do I Seem Bulletproof to You? podfic by [livejournal.com profile] fleshflutter , read by [livejournal.com profile] cathexys , and it was one of the greatest experiences of my young life.  Well, maybe not greatest, but definitely great.

So now I'm looking for more podfic that will make me actually want to get up and walk 30 minutes to work in the freezing goddamn cold.

Turns out that RPS really does it for me over the headphones, so I would love any of your RPS recs that are loooonggg and satisfying.  Hurt!Jensen and/or some serious angst is very much desired, though the most important thing is good writing and a good recording.  If there's no angst but it's a spectacular fic, rec it anyway!  Especially if the plot is really good and will keep me trekking onward through the snow.

I've listened to many of [livejournal.com profile] nu_breed 's readings and In from the Cold podfic by [livejournal.com profile] ladyjanelly , read by [livejournal.com profile] paraka, [livejournal.com profile] diurnal_lee and [livejournal.com profile] kronos999, and recs along those lines would be so appreciated.

No PWPs, please -- I'm most interested in good plots, great characterization, and spectacular writing.  Also, please let Jared and Jensen get together in the end :)  OH and please, AU only!

Thanks so much!

Have you happened to try Unequivocal Sex Invite (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/unequivocal-sex-invite) (Jared/Jensen, AU) by [livejournal.com profile] miss_begonia, read by [livejournal.com profile] dodificus? It's not angsty, but it is long, plotty, funny, sharply written, and read with glee and precision by dodificus. It's a J2 retelling of Clueless, with enough divergence from the original to make it fresh, imo.

Oooh, that looks great! "Read with glee" is the best description of a reader one could ask for :) Thanks for the rec! DLing now.

My favorite RPS audiobook ever is Your Brains Are No Match For My Tractorbeam (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/your-brains-are-no-match-for-my-tractorbeam-audiobook) by [livejournal.com profile] poor_choices, read by [livejournal.com profile] juice817. She does the greatest sick!Jensen voice in the middle.

AH, I love that story! Read it, but would love to hear it again! Didn't know it was an audiobook. *beams* Thanks, chickie!

You're welcome! ♥

Here's another one I really dig: Common Knowledge (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/common-knowledge-audiobook) by [livejournal.com profile] elucreh, read by [livejournal.com profile] juice817. Jared becomes a sekrit tinhat fangirl. Plus, Juice sings "The Ballad of Jared & Jensen," which is SO MUCH WIN.

Okay, darling. Another story that will transform you young life is the scorching hot irresistible But Then My Homework Was Never Quite Like This (http://community.livejournal.com/audio_by_juice/19295.html) by [livejournal.com profile] thenyxie read by [livejournal.com profile] juice817. Yes, it's 80% sex but take my word for it, you've GOT to listen to it. It will DEFINITELY get you out the door into the freezing cold with no problem, lol.

I know you said you just wanted AUs and chances are you've read the fics already but I can't help it but not rec them. I really loved them.

The Jared Padalecki Untitled Project (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/search/node/The+Jared+Padalecki+Untitled+Project)

A Slow Cadence (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/search/node/A+Slow+Cadence)

So they are both not completely AU but for me it was enough (I prefer AUs as well). A Slow Cadance has lots of angst for Jensen but it doesn't make him look like a wimp or anything. The Jared Padalecki Untitled Project is great as well because it has all this lovely pain through misunderstanding, rejection, pride... So just listen to them :)

wow these sound really good would like to listen to them but how on earth do i get them onto my ipod???
[identity profile] dserene1.livejournal.com on January 27th, 2010 04:45 am (UTC)
If you're using an apple or have itunes, the process is easy - download the podfics on to your computer, then open them in itunes. If you're using windows media player, load the podfic on there, then synchronize your ipod with WMP.
