I read "A Question of Control" by leonidaslion and then slid through her 'Maui' 'verse and hit this line --

“Is that all it takes?” Sam whispered. “You need someone to tell you to step in line and march straight?”


...it tripped off a sudden desire for fic where someone (Sam, Cas, whoever) finally figures out that Dean really IS 'Daddy's little soldier' and is desperately (but possibly not admitting it, even to himself) wishing for/seeking/needing someone who will take the weight off his shoulders, even if for just a little while, and tell him what to do.

Longer is better, but I'm looking for anything. Rating is not an issue, nor is pairing (or slash/het/gen, either) -- just any good fic where someone finally figures out that Dean can't relax until someone else takes over watch, until someone else steps up and takes over the responsibilities of making the decisions, or until someone else takes command.

Anyone got any good ones?
