Hello, I was hoping someone could help me find this fic. It's a single chaptered AU starting from the beginning of the series...

where Sam leaves to go to college and starts having visions of a demon. To the point where he runs away to keep Jess from dying. (It happens anyways) And Dean is sent to a meeting of hunters to meet "The Hunter", who gives abilities to those he meets, like some form of rite of passage into being a hunter.

Sam is possessed eventually by the demon, and traps himself in a well by falling into it, while Dean is told that he's a Guardian, and that the price is already paid. He also has to leave his favorite knife behind, and goes off to find Sam, who by then is in need of medical care and has driven off the demon by almost dying.

There's also a line where a hunter says that the demons always try to attack them when they gather in one place, which is one of the reasons they don't do this often.
