I started to read this story a long time ago and now I can't find it again and more so I just have vague memories about it.

Jared is a cop and Jensen a victim? or a witness? 

I think Jensen is an author or something and someone close to him (boyfriend?) is murdered. Jared is assigned to the case and he isn't really a nice guy. He and Jensen get together eventually (the sex is pretty hot). All I remember is that the killer wants Jensen for himself (Jim Beaver or JDM - his publisher) and that there is a clock (Grandfather clock) playing a role and they catch the killer in Jensen's apartment and Jared comes to his rescue like at the last minute.


I know, it's not much to go from but the story won't leave me alone and I would love to read it again. Maybe anyone has a clue what I'm talking about???
