Riverdance and bands
Two requests for you lovely people!

1. It was a J2 AU where Jared was the principle male lead in Riverdance. It was just a oneshot I think. Jensen was an audience member. And hey! If anyone has any other stories involving Riverdance I'd love to give them a shot, cos I love me some Riverdance. :P

2. Any stories where J2 play instruments or are in bands. I prefer if they're more like Beautiful Disaster by [livejournal.com profile] thenyxie (music wise) over say, country music or pub bands but really, anything you can give me is great. HIT ME WITH WHATEVER.

Thank you!

I have JUUUUUST the right fics for your second request \o/

First is only one of them playing an instrument, though.
Don't go mistaking paradise (http://users.livejournal.com/__tiana__/71275.html): Jensen loves only two things in his life: drumming and his best friend Jared. Unfortunately, Jared, his head buried in his painting and a years old crush on a girl named Sandy, only knows about the drumming.

Thunderbird Whine (http://senorwences.livejournal.com/2194.html): Summary: Rock & roll J2 AU, which has moments of angst, but it's mostly fun. Jared is a singer, with big time aspirations and a huge crush on the drummer of Thunderbird Wine, Jensen Ackles. Coincidentally, Thunderbird Wine's singer goes off the rails, and the label wants him gone. The band needs someone for 12 shows and an album to fulfill their contract. Think shirtless, sweaty, tights, hair extensions, and living on a bus with a Machiavellian manager, a ferociously cheerful bassist, a lead guitarist who’s more than a little rodeo and the prettiest damn drummer in the industry.

I just thought about it, and maybe you'd also like Coda (http://raeschae.livejournal.com/39174.html), if you haven't read it yet: Summary: Laying your heart on the line while drunk off your ass is never a good idea, and nobody knows that better than Jensen, editor-in-chief of Coda Online. But a fifth of whiskey and one incredibly wasted blog post does give him the chance to rebuild his friendship with Jared, who he hasn't spoken to in two years. Now all he has to do is convince Jared that he's not the same guy he was in college, which may prove difficult since Jared's not, either.

It has none of the boys as singers or musicians, but Jensen is a blogger (?) and actually, his whole character is made up by music. I really love this, since I like his bitchy, sarcastic attitude in this. His passion for music, though, is what makes this such a wonderful read!

Oooh! Thanks! I think I actually have this somewhere filed under "to read" so I'll give it a shot. :)

If a self rec is okay then my stories, Three Strikes -- http://sandymg.livejournal.com/20904.html

and Something Blue -- http://sandymg.livejournal.com/41741.html

both feature Jensen as a singer/songwriter guitar player.

It's not rock music though like Beautiful Disaster (great story!) but it's very much about Jensen and his music.

Also if you haven't read The Doors of Time by [livejournal.com profile] felisblanco then that just shouldn't be missed. -- http://felisblanco.livejournal.com/856417.html
-- Jensen is a pianist in that one. A very special pianist.

Doors of Time I've read but the your two are new. Thanks!

In the interest of full disclosure the music comes most into play in Something Blue.
