He had been gone since a week after Sam left for college. He went West so Dean went East. He didn’t cover his tracks and it didn’t take John long to find him. Dean left again after then and made damn sure he laid down very visible tracks leading in ten different directions except for the one he finally settled on. It was June, he hadn’t seen John in year and he sure as hell had no desire to see him again. He was just a reminder one that Dean couldn’t count his way out of because there weren’t enough numbers or deeps breaths left in the world.
