Dean: less hurt, more comfort  
I am looking for fics which are h/c but more focused on the comfort part. They should revolve around Dean having been tortured/kidnapped/raped/hurt perhaps for long periods of time and then rescued. I'm looking for fics which are about his physical, mental and emotional recovery. I especially like it when they focus on the psychological outcomes.

I would prefer that they are not Wincest but I do like Dean/Castiel. The more characters involved in Dean's recovery the better. I like it when they all rally around and look after him.

The longer, the better!

I think otp_destiels' Unexpected Destinies (http://otp-destiel.livejournal.com/571.html) is a pretty good h/c fic. More on emotional hurt than physical, but the recovery is a long and involved process (there's currently 120 chapters). It's still a WIP, but is updated pretty frequently. I would highly recommend it if you like fluff with a good dose of angst every so often.

sounds a lot like Crowgirl's verse Scars Remind Us (http://archiveofourown.org/series/11230). It's D/C right after Cas pulls him after Hell, so lots of PTSD and etc.

You've probably already read it (or at least heard of it), but The Bright Lights of Disturbia is one of my favorites. I know you're not a fan of wincest, but I'm reccing it anyway because of how amazing it is. And it's long. Really, really long.
