So for the better part of the afternoon, I've been searching for a specific fic to treat myself for Valentine's. I read it a couple of months ago and just remembered it today. It's a J2 AU set in Canada


Jared quits college in Texas and moves back to Canada after most of his family was killed in an accident. He and his sister are left to pick up the pieces. Megan is still in high school and Jared decides to stay there, so she wouldn't have to move. Both deal with their loss, he starts to become over-protective and somewhat agrophobic. Megan gets a job at a coffee shop, where she develops a crush on the new guy, Jensen, but is saddened to find out that he is gay (He gets all the girls at the coffee shop a flower for Valentine's Day). Jensen kind of adopts them both, acting as a protector for Meg and a one-man support system for Jared.

I remember that Jared kept turning Jensen down for the longest time, but near the end he felt the pull of love as well. I think there was crying and cuddling involved, as well as Jared fighting insomnia. I think it also takes place in the timeframe of one year.


Does this sound at all familiar to anyone? Or does anyone have any similar J2 recs that they could share?
