"Sherlock"-like Boys, Sam and Dean in a Library
Hello. This is about to get very vague:

1) I was rewatching Sherlock BBC and I was wondering if there are any fics in which one of the boys is hyper intelligent. It doesn't need to be Sherlock-inspired or even set in the Sherlock universe. I have read a couple where Jensen is a physicist but none with Jared. Detectives, scientists, or writers, I don't mind as long as one of them is on the same level as Sherlock. Bonus points if this leads to Sherlock-like awkwardness or asexuality.

J2, Wincest, Destiel, Cockles J2M, Mishalecki Wincestiel are all acceptable. I'd prefer no het, but if it's well done I'll happily take it.

2) I was reading a fic in which Sam and Dean are on a hunt (given) and they have to stop at a very old library that houses books on the supernatural. Sam is really into it, Dean predictably less so, and at one point the librarian mentions he has the actual Necronomicon. He lets Sam hold it and take a look, it makes Dean a little nervous, and then he hands it back. This is the only scene I remember and it was very close to the beginning.

ETA: FOUND BOTH, but would still appreciate more of #1

Much obliged for the help. I hope  have included all necessary tags.

Re: #1
I've read only the first part of that. Is this the one in which Jensen has a life-sized Dalek costume?

I didn't know it was a verse! Thank you.

Wal-Mart Verse (http://crackedfic.livejournal.com/tag/wal-mart%20verse)
The on-going love story between the once possible but actually not-so-slow Jared (an actual rocket scientist masquerading as a Wal-Mart employee) and Jensen, the bitchy, disgruntled uncle who coaches his nephew’s sports teams and detests the massive chain store with a passion.

#2 I think it's "The Old Gods Return" (http://fleshflutter.livejournal.com/5118.html)

I love The Wal-Mart Verse and thank you for finding that fic for me. I was pretty sure it was one of fleshfutter's!

I love this one - Talk Hard Verse. It started as a one shot (which is my fav) but the whole series is good. Super smart but shy Jensen.

A bit late to the post but here's a couple stories featuring smart!Dean. Not Sherlock level, but still better than Show:

Geek is Sexy (http://jedi-diplomat.livejournal.com/176000.html) features geek!Dean, the one who can create EMF detectors out of crappy old walkmans and keep a 40-yr old car going strong. (pre-series). It has a sequel Open Source, Insert Foot (http://jedi-diplomat.livejournal.com/271916.html), which takes place post-2.1. They're both gen.

And there's somnolentblue's Dean Winchester, Cataloguing Badass (http://somnolentblue.livejournal.com/192409.html) wherein Dean contemplates classification systems and controlled vocabularies.

If you don't mind crossovers, I have a smart!Sam in the Stargate Atlantis. Counting to Ten in other Galaxies (http://smiley.zonezine.net/html/CountingtoTen.html) by sardonicsmily. It's Sam/Dean but they're not brothers.

Thank you! I powered through the first two. I've always been interested in computers and this reminded me why.
