J2 happy ending fic recs.
I don't read fic about my OTP to see what it would be like if their relationship didn't work out. I just don't, because I'm a delicate flower and sad endings gut me like a mofo. I was suckerpunched by one tonight, though, and now I'm depressed as fuck and can't stop crying (YKINMK, and same goes for triggers, right?).

Please, fandom, give me your happy endings. I'm looking for fics (under 20,000 words) featuring J2 (don't care who bottoms), where they don't start out together, one or both don't even start out as interested in guys, but then they get together, sex together, stay together, and everything is good and right in the world. I'm talking all-out fluff and schmoop explosions of rainbows here.

Failing that, as long as it's clear that the guys live happily ever after, I'm down with it. Some angst is acceptable along the path to their HEA, but nothing too heavy, please. I'm not sure my heart could take it tonight.

Sorry if I'm being too specific here; I just really need something to cleanse my palate. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

*goes to find more tissues*

Thank you so much! No worries on the length, I'll probably survive. ;) In truth, I'm usually all about "the longer the better" in regards to fic. I was just feeling the bug for something shorter when I posted.

Thanks again!

Am I out of line if I ask which fic you read that suckerpunched you? I'm an angst addict I'm afraid :)
[identity profile] runawaydreamer.livejournal.com on May 24th, 2012 09:37 am (UTC)
No, not out of line at all! In fact, I'm really glad someone asked, because I'm more than happy to rec it -- it's fantastically written. It just broke my fragile heart, that's all. Lol. It's called 'It Makes You Desperate' (http://rockstarpeach.livejournal.com/114722.html) and it's by [livejournal.com profile] rockstarpeach. She writes amazing things, and this is no exception; the ending just wasn't for me.

I hope you like it!

I'll definitely be giving that one a re-read, then! I have the worst memory, so I've well and truly forgotten it by now; it'll be like reading it anew! Lol. :)

Thanks heaps for the seconding!

My ultimate Best Schmoopy Goodness J2 of All Time rec:

As The Sunset Turns to Morning
http://users.livejournal.com/_mournthewicked/250450.html (http://users.livejournal.com/_mournthewicked/250450.html)

Jensen spends his life hiding who he is from the family that would never accept him if they knew. When he’s uprooted in the middle of his senior year and suddenly becomes the new kid, his carefully placed mask begins to slip. Especially when he meets Jared – a loud, outspoken spectacle of a boy that fights for everything Jensen was taught to stand against. Jared has no problem going after what he wants, and now it’s just a matter of Jensen letting himself do the same.

It's a bit longer than what you wanted, but it is such a feel good, gorgeous fic that it makes me smile whenever I think of it and HAD to rec it.

Ohh, your endorsement makes it sound like just what I need. Thank you so much for that, I really appreciate it! *snuggles up with all this happy fic and sighs*

Normally I love the darkness but my cat is in hospital and I'm deliberately seeking the lightest, sweetest and good-natured(est) OTP fic I can find. Try The Montovia Series (http://archiveofourown.org/works/100525?view_adult=true) by Meri. It got me through a couple of horrible nights when I couldn't sleep!
[identity profile] runawaydreamer.livejournal.com on May 26th, 2012 01:45 am (UTC)
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty. :( I'll save up all my best wishes for you both. ♥

Thank you so much for the link. If it got you through those nights, I reckon it'll definitely do some good for me!

Whoa, nelly. I have no idea why that comment posted in triple. And at different times? I wasn't on the computer then! *side-eyes LiveJournal* Sorry about that.

I'm super glad things are looking up for him! :)

Now if only LJ knew how LJ gets, we might make some progress, huh? Lol.
