Nurse J2
So, I've been zooming through this list on Goodreads, (5 books in two weeks, I feel so accomplished!) The latest story I've come across is one called Rescue Me. Apparently its about a guy who was in a horrific accident, and he hires a guy nurse to get back to health. The free sample seemed really promising, but as I've gone to read some of the reviews before purchasing, ALL of them warn how much of a jerk the main character is, how he doesn't have a single redeeming quality and how confusing it is that his nurse falls head over heels for him when he's such an abusive homophobic asshole.

Really dissapointed with this because the set up of injured man and hired live-in nurse sounded really intriguing. So, I'm here asking for any J2 stories you know of involving one of them being ill or injured and the other getting hired to be an in-house nurse.

I'm not help here but most all of Scarlet Blackwell's novels have a jerk as the main character.

I can handle jerks, but one dimensional complete un-relatable abusive jerks I don't see myself connecting with.

It took me awhile to enjoy the book but I ended up liking it as I did with all her stuff; she's a good writer though and that might also have something to do with why I do enjoy her stuff because they are realistic characters.

I've read Rescue Me and loved it. All Scarlet Blackwells books are wonderful, don't let the reviews fall you, Scarlet Blackwell is a wonderful writer.

Tell me Matt isn't a complete abusive homo asshole like the reviews strongly suggest. Normally I really don't pay any attention to bad reviews, on anything, but they were all so alike I figured they couldn't all be off point. It was really interesting what I did read and the reviews have really put me off.

I didn't leave a review but I did rate it 4/5. My friends RJ left this review and she rated it 4.5/5

'''Really enjoyed this book. This is sometimes an incredibly painful read. The main character seems at times to have no redeeming qualities, but that is what makes this such a satisfying read. I read so much into what was written, had my own opinions on motivation and being allowed that freedom was a refreshing change... 4.5 stars.''

Scarlet Blackwell seems to attract a lot of negative reviews, she is one of those authors you either love or hate. I love her. If you have an ereader like a kindle then download the sample for free and see how you get on. For any other make of reader just read the excerpt on the publishers site. Then make your own mind up.

That's the bit I read, the free sample on my Kindle and I really feel for Matt so far and I'm really interested in James. I think you've convinced me, I'll give it a read. Even if it doesn't end up to be my cup of tea, I'm sure I'll still gain something from it. I've never read a book before where I thought wow I didn't like a lot of that but I'm glad I read it anyway. I'm fairly open minded, and I really want to like all characters, no matter what, I've learned to look for that redeeming feature deep inside a character. So this should be educational either way it swings for me LOL. Thank you for reminding me I'm not one to give up because of crappy reviews.

I like Scarlets books because she makes you think, put yourself in the characters minds. I'm Josiegoodreads over there by the way. I hope you enjoy it.

I absolutely loved Walking on Broken Glass (http://wobg.livejournal.com/) by [livejournal.com profile] deviant_dev. Jared is a live-in nurse who takes care of Jensen's boyfriend and not Jensen himself, but it's still amazing.
