Looking for Winchesters vs cops fics
I'd love to get some more recs for fics dealing with the consequences of the events in the ep 'Slash Fiction'. In other words, the Winchesters either hunted by the cops, meeting people who recognize them, getting arrested, prison, whatever... as long as it deals with outsiders reacting to the Winchesters post the cross state killing spree committed by the LeviChesters.

I prefer gen, but I'll accept any pairing except for wincest. Crossovers would be awesome, outside pov even better.

I just feel that the show just dropped most of the consequences of that ep, so please tell me that fandom was a bit less quick to drop the potential of it.

I don't have a specific rec, unfortunately, but I just wanted to point you towards the comm [Unknown site tag] if you weren't already aware of it. It's a gen only community.

Thanks :-)

I'm actually already a member of that com, but unfortunately people don't post on it nearly often enough for my preferences ;-)

That's because the comm only accepts gen fic. If it accepted het or slash it would be far more active.

probably, but I do wonder that if they allowed het or slash fics, if people would be able to keep the focus on the confrontation with law enforcement, instead of focusing on getting a couple together.

I think one of my main issues in finding fics dealing with 706 is that almost all the episode codas I saw after the ep, were dealing with Sam and Dean making up after their fight, which just didn't interest me personally all that much, since I didn't think they'd be apart that long in canon to begin with.

Unfortunately most people seem to prefer doing what the show did, aka avoid all the potential storylines that could have come to be if they'd actually let the boys get in trouble with the cops again. (still waiting for the first Dean/Cas fic that actually deals with Cas attempt at playing God and how he's now probably wanted as a mass murderer of some kind, if you got any of those, I'd love to read them, but then I love storylines like that. ).

I think some of it has to do with the fact that so much of season 6 and 7 is distasteful to a lot of fans and most I know would rather pretend none of it ever happened. Some people do address some of the issues, I did though it's not a main focus, but I didn't want to leave it untouched upon even if it's pre the bit you're interested in.
But there are slash fics out there dealing with cases and the main focus is the case but they can't be there because of the slash.

hmm, I actually didn't have a problem with either of those seasons. In fact, after s5, which was a bit of a disapointment to me (I'm just not a big fan of over the top comedy and s5 wasted a lot of good opportunities in exchange for cheap jokes), esp. the way it ended when I'd really hoped we'd get a chance to see Dean as Micheal or you know have him do something that clearly gave him importance in the story, I thought that s6 was a step up in comparison to that, and I loved the Leviathans storyline in s7. Still wish the show hadn't just dropped the poilice storyline though.

Really? Wow, you're one of only 5 people who I know to say that. But then most people I know love Cas and so seasons 4 & 5 are often considered the best of SPN. Though I admit that 5 ended poorly, but then they were only informed towards the end of the season that they needed to have 6th season and I think you can see where they scrambled to make that happen. I sometimes wish it hadn't just to see what Kripke's original ending for the series was as I suspect it did involve Dean as Michael. There was far too heavy an emphasis on Dean being the only one who could end it for it to be anything else. That was just dropped all of a sudden.
But yes, that's part of why I started my own fic after season 5, to address that and deal with the Michael issue as I think he was a completely underused character. In this fic Dean does say yes eventually and things go a very different way.
I think part of why 7 disappointed so much is because they kept trying to make it seem like the leviathons were a much bigger threat than they were and the only way they could do that was by killing off characters and things like that. If they'd kept God!Cas as the bad guy it would have been far more interesting and you'd have a believable follow-up to Lucifer and the Apocalypse.
Too late to change that now, though now that Gamble's gone season 8 is already looking awesome.

Check out my Law Enforcement (https://pinboard.in/u:rbmifan/t:fandom:_Supernatural/t:misc:_Law_Enforcement) tag on Pinboard. Most of them should be gen. Outsider POV fics are tagged as such. I'm not sure if any of them specifically follow Slash Fiction, though.

ETA: On second glance, I do have a tag for 7x06 here (https://pinboard.in/u:rbmifan/t:tag:_07x06).

I wrote a story post season two episode called Wanted (http://archiveofourown.org/works/466466) that deals with the aftermath of Nightshift.

Thanks, I'd read that one already, but it's one of those fics that's always great to read again.

Totally not really what you're looking for, but I just finished this and loved it so I'm reccing it anyway: Chasing the Sky (http://daymarket.livejournal.com/11440.html). AU where Dean and Sam are serial killers and are trailed by Castiel Novak, FBI. There's some Destiel, in the sense that Dean is obsessed with/in love with Cas and occasionally kidnaps him and mails him body parts and things to show his love.

Thanks for the rec, definitely an interesting idea.
