I agree with the above, and have to say that my favoritest funny bertee fic (so far) is Fight the Rising Odds (http://bertee.livejournal.com/111372.html), a Greek mythology AU.

And poor choices is my go-to anytime I've stumbled into a Winchester death fic and need a tonic. This one in particular sticks out as adorably funny: Hanging Around, Just In Case (http://longsufferingly.livejournal.com/86403.html), in which Jared decides to sell his assginity on eBay.

And, oooh, this one is an awesome fic with super-adorable art, from the most recent reverse bang: Dream a Little Dream of Menagerie (http://infatuated-ink.livejournal.com/79526.html)

That's just the tip of the iceberg, I read (and write) lots of depressing fics, so I need lots of tonics :)

But the backlash was fierce, and now the pageant is receiving threatening letters. They call in the FBI for help, and after assessing the situation, they assign Agent Ackles to go undercover as a pageant contestant. He is less than thrilled with his assignment. Former male model Jared gets hired as the pageant consultant charged with the difficult task of transforming Jensen from rough-around-the-edges FBI agent to GQ coverboy. Between the pampering and strutting and arguing and trying to find a place to conceal his weapon during the swimsuit competition, Jensen starts to realize that they make a good team, and maybe more.

Absolutely this one: Your brains are no match for my tractor-beam (http://longsufferingly.livejournal.com/10691.html): AU, based on The Big Bang Theory. Jensen is a socially awkward but happy theoretical physicist, Jared is an aspiring actor, and everyone sucks at relationships pretty damn hard.

Hm, and I personally loved Mr. Ackles' Flower Shop for Unusual, Extraordinary, and Peculiar Plants (http://archiveofourown.org/works/463665/): (Twisting hazel, wailing carnations, camouflage trilliums, skittering vines - to Jensen, sequestered in his flower shop, his plants are his best friends and constant companions. They see him through his tentative friendships with his customers, rival flower shop owner Mark's attempts to sabotage him, and even his hopeless crush on local university student Jared who comes in every couple of days to buy flowers for his girl.

But even they can't help him when Jensen has to use the plant that killed his mother to catch Mark in the act - no, that responsibility falls solely to Jared.)

There's some angst in the Flower-story, but the overall concept is so interesting and funny and ... just plain good.

The Courtship of Jensen's Co-Star (http://the8threalm.livejournal.com/28511.html) is, to me, the ultimate feel good fic (even if it does get a little flangsty at certain points).
Somewhere in the time between a handshake and a hug, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki went from being reel-life brothers to real-life best friends, and complete strangers to cosmic soul mates, no rhyme or reason to it that either of them could ever see. Jared was everything Jensen was not: friendly, funny, and full of life; one in six-point-whatever billion the Earth’s population currently stood at. Life was awesome. Work was amazing. Everything was fine until Jared kissed Jensen. Everything was peachy until Jensen fell in love. With desperate times unexpectedly calling for desperate measures, Jensen called Chad Michael Murray for relationship advice – because being in love led to temporary insanity obviously – so it really didn't surprise him that he couldn’t seem to win when it came to wooing Jared. Still, Pisces must’ve been in a really good place in the night sky or something because suddenly, right smack dab in the middle of the miserable courtship of his co-star, Jensen discovered that maybe loving Jared was all he needed to do to win his heart. And luckily for Jensen, loving Jared was also the one thing he did best.

Jensen is a discouraged divorce lawyer and unlucky with love. Jared is his new neighbor, a poor business student who is hard up on cash and also extremely handsome. When Jensen loans Jared the money to get out of debt, Jared thinks of a very unconventional way to pay Jensen back. This is a classic “fake” boyfriend story with a few fun twists.
