I try to be as specific in the description as I can but I read this story I'm looking for a long time ago. It's a Dean/Sam AU where Sam has nothing much to do and I believe his neighbor asked him to look after Dean because he suffers from some kind of mental illness. (I'm pretty sure it's Sam/Dean not Jared/Jensen, but... well, can't really remember). They live on a farm and they aren't brothers, it's totally AU. Sam looks after Dean, and there's a scene I can remember where Sam takes Dean to a BBQ party with his friends. There's also horse-riding involved. And Dean standing in front of the window. It was a pretty long fanfiction too and it's quite "old" I think, I read a few years back.
