"Uncle" Bobby rocks, the narrative is intricate and interesting, and the boys get their chance at a decent existence while still putting their hard-won knowledge of the bad things to use helping the town when it needs them most.

Smart Dean also rocks!

Very decent, btw -- the authors are women of faith so there's no titillating stuff, but they pretty much wisely avoid banging you over the head with it.

I found myself liking this well-crafted series despite not being of their particular preference. IT'S THAT MUCH of a good read.

This might fit what you are looking for. Dean has legal guardianship of Sam, due to their lifestyle and the fact that their Dad is kind of a flake in the Dad department.
