General search for CPS
I have seen a few good stories that mention Sam and Dean around/avoiding CPS so I wanted to find some more. Give me any stories with CPS being involved from Sam and Dean dodging them to being take in by them and getting away or taken in by them and in a home/fostered out. Any with CPS investigating to filing suit against John or Sam and Dean slipping through the cracks. Maybe they get the boys and split them up, or they get the boys and John, Bobby, Caleb or Jim or even Ellen come get them. Can be a major or minor part of the story. Also any cases where as adults they solve a case involving CPS or the kids in CPS or a CPS worker they ran into as kids. Can be gen or a pairing (don't care who pairs with who). Crossovers are cool too (think Criminal Minds/NCIS/CSI or something with cops) Happy or sad endings, angsty plot, dark plot, heck I'll take fluff too, or holiday stuff.

Any recs or help pointing me in that direction I would be grateful for. Thanks.

Also not sure about tags so I added a few.

There's brief involvement in "Along the Watchtower". It's an amazing story where Mary and John adopt an abused Dean, Sam and Adam

Kinda maybe fitting:

Runaways (http://archiveofourown.org/works/257903/): We lost seven teenage boys from the shelter in the summer of '97. The last were a pair of brothers so wrapped up in each other that I never had a chance to save them. Their names were Sam and Dean.

Wonderful OPV of teenaged-Sam and Dean, the case is interesting (though vague due to Outside-PV) and the boys read spot-on in their characterization. (just a little hurtDean)

Home on the Highway (http://purple-carpets.livejournal.com/34098.html): Wee!Dean worries himself sick while he and Sammy are stuck with their evil (not really evil at all) foster parents.

Here's one called Into My Head (http://archiveofourown.org/works/1301428?view_full_work=true) by saraid where Sam and Dean are not brothers and Sam is a CPS caseworker who gets involved with Dean through his job. I just read it recently. It's a great summer read, too, because it's set at a beach.

Late to the party, but hopefully you're still interested?
The fics are all a little older, so maybe you know some of them already.

Not alright (http://peaceful-sands.dreamwidth.org/1690.html) by peaceful_sands

A very beautiful boy, age 6, hits his head and is lost. When he wakes, he finds he can't remember much of anything. No one comes for him and he's bounced from hospital to foster home where the other kids give him a new name every day, sometimes twice a day. The only time he ever speaks is when he wakes up from his dreams, calling for "Dad" and for "Sammy". Sometimes he screams for them. When he takes to breaking out, the concerned foster parents take to locking him in a room without windows for bedtime. Which upsets this little unnamed boy because, he still doesn't remember much, but he remembers a Dad and he remembers this Sammy and he's pretty sure he's going to go crazy if he doesn't find them.

Little rattle stilt (http://archiveofourown.org/works/475) by Hope

Circa 1988-9. Sam gets taken by the CPS.

The Aunt Sissy (http://archiveofourown.org/series/29850) 'verse by Sylvia Bond

Outsider POV.

"Dad's on a hunting trip, don't you remember, Aunt Sissy?"

This voice came from behind her, and Ramona whirled around to look down at the upturned face of a boy of about ten or eleven years of age. He was ordinary looking, except for two large round eyes, which in the funky lights of the office, looked brown. Her brain registered his freckles and short hair as she turned back to the receptionist, wondering who the hell Aunt Sissy was.

A simple mistake by Social Services and a little quick thinking and desperation on Dean's part has Ramona Blessing "rescue" the Winchester boys from foster care.
