Hi everyone! I'm in need of your help once again, I was so sure I had the fic bookmarked, but I went through all my bookmarks and searched everywhere I could think of, and no dice. Unfortunately I remember only bits and pieces, and I have a feeling I may be mixing up a few fics, but here's what I got:

It's pre-series. Dean is away (somewhere? On a solo hunt?), Sam (14? 16?) was left with John. When Dean comes back, he finds Sam feverish (?) and beat up, packing his things to leave. Basically, John arranged some sort of "hunters' coming of age" thing for Sam while Dean was away. A bunch of his hunter buddies broke in during the night, grabbed Sam off to the woods somewhere, roughed him up, the works (I remember one of them dousing Sam with cold water at some point?). Eventually Sam gave them the slip, they chased him awhile through the woods. Then the thing is over (don't remember how), they're all slapping Sam on the back and congratulating him on being so tough and Sam freaks out because John didn't tell him it was all planned. Dean goes ballistic upon hearing all this, because I think John warned Dean about the "coming of age thing", and it was nowhere near as intense as what Sam had to go through. I think the fic ends with Dean grabbing Sam and them running away from John together? The fic was split POV - Dean's for current events, and Sam for the whole "coming of age" thing. The fic was also definitely BAMF!Sam and asshole!John.

Anything about this sound familiar at all? Any fics in the similar vein also welcome. Please and thank you.
