It's a loooong AU with first time Sam/Gabe and Dean/Cas, but in roughly equal parts (possibly more focused on the Sam/Gabe side). Heavy on the angst, happy endings to be had. :) I really enjoyed these stories.

My favorite Sam/Gabriel AU is The Dog Walker Verse (http://archiveofourown.org/series/30072) by LadyDrace. She also has a D/s verse with Gabe as the Dom, but I'm not sure if that qualifies as not PWP. There's another verse called Buttons On A Coat by GreyMichaela with top!Sam, also D/s, that has a little more plot. I have two more for Dean/Gabriel: Lysanatt's Theory of Silence and Storms (AU, where Gabriel wins Dean in a cage match) and Dynamic Equilibrium, where Gabe takes Dean as a state-ordered sub. (AU where people are born into their d/s roles.) I guess this says something about what I like to read :-) Oh all of these are on AO3, I didn't link to the ones that are more p0rn.

To his surprise, Sam finds the sessions with his punked-out tattooed "cuddler" to be more than therapeutic, and what starts out as a one-time encounter turns into true love between someone who has always felt like he is too much for anyone to handle and someone who is afraid he can never be enough. Meanwhile, Dean struggles with his own relationship insecurities and the never-ending task of being the best big brother ever. (OMG I love this series; the last story in the series is still in progress and updated regularly. The rest can totally stand alone although why would you. Side pairings of Dean/Pamela and Dean/Lisa.)

* Expose My Heart (http://archiveofourown.org/works/2792393): Sam doesn’t need a bodyguard. He doesn’t. No matter what Genevieve says. So he maybe kinda sorta got kidnapped. That was his own fault. He’d be careful now. At least, that’s what he thought until he got a good look at said bodyguard. Dammit, could you say cliche...

* The Art of Tying Bonds with Scissors (http://archiveofourown.org/works/1059499): When Sam unexpectedly bonds with Lucifer, a high-ranking traditionalist alpha, Sam's beliefs about free will are put to the test. But bond or no bond: there is no way Sam will let biology get the better of him. When Castiel, Lucifer's younger brother, makes an offer that Sam literally cannot resist, Sam knows it's his chance to be free of Lucifer for good. Here's a verse that is AU Dean/Cas and Sam/Gabe; the whole verse is generally teen-rated. I haven't read it in a while, but I remember loving it (and I think I want to read it again now that I dug it up). I recall some stories focus more on one pairing than the other. I really loved that the verse was long, but that each story was readable in a sitting, so it was easy to get to a good stopping point.
