Do you ever randomly remember tiny bits of awesome fics you read ages ago, but can't for the life of you figure out where to even start looking for them? That's where I'm at right now.

1. Stanford era, John gets posessed by the YED who, instead of going on a boring murder spree, decides to play with Dean's issues by pretending John is under some kind of curse that gets rid of his self control. I remember the first scene was set in a diner, "John" comes back from the restroom, inapropriately scratching his junk and when Dean says something about it, he just casually slaps him across the face and that kind of sets the tone for what kinds of inhibitions this pretend-curse is blocking. The physical abuse gets worse as the story goes on and I'm almost sure it turns sexual at one point, but I could be wrong. And then there is some angst from Dean's side about how without his self control, his dad's first instinct is to just whale on him all the time, and possibly from John because how could Dean not figure out that this isn't what he would be like without a filter.

2. This is a long shot. I really only remember that I read it on ff.net, years ago. There was a scene that was set during Devil's Trap. Sam drags a severely injured Dean out of the cabin to get them all to the hospital, and somehow their conversation turns to Pastor Jim and how he would always make waffles (pancakes?) the way Dean likes them and not Sam, and Dean just kind of resignedly says something about how Sam just has to deal with not being someone's favorite for once.
