specific J2 AU fic - found!  
Hello -

Not much to go on here, but I am looking for a fic - a one-shot that I read on LJ (I think...).  It was set in a futuristic/post apocalyptic world where Jensen was a highly trained/programmed assassin or soldier who had escaped from/was in hiding from the people who had trained him.  He was with Jared, in a remote place - cabin in the woods or on a mountain, somewhere.  They were doing all right, under the radar, but then Jensen came back from town or wherever, with a body - someone had tracked them, and Jensen had killed the man to protect them.

It was a beautifully written story, gorgeous language - spare, almost, and I think it was a winter setting.  Anyway, I would be very grateful if anyone can help!  I swear I had saved this fic to memories, but I just can't find it!

Oh, it's really wonderful - which has me wondering why I didn't seem to have saved it! Making me crazy!

And yes, let's cross fingers and hope that someone will recognize this....I've gotten to the point where I'm going through old emails because I know I sent the link of this story to a friend (but she doesn't remember it, darn). Wish me luck!

Jared was like the handler or the deprogrammer? He had helped Jensen escape? they were in or headed to Mexico? I could swear I've read this. I looked through the big bangs and didn't find anything like it but I'm going to keep looking.

Jared was more like a civilian cut off from the rest of the society - a loner, and Jensen had somehow wound up at his place. There wasn't a lot of backstory to this; just a snippet of a fic describing this world. There was a war, with Jensen as a deeply programmed soldier who was not good at much else.

And I wish I could describe it better! It's just a really beautifully written fic that begs for more stories about these guys.

Is the fic called "A Mobius Strip" by any chance? I'm just trying to figure out if I have it saved somewhere on my hard drive. :)

Also, is there any chance it might be Dean/Sam instead of J2?

The title is "You Can Plan On Me" by downjune. It's J2. She has locked her journal due to a nasty troll, but has been granting access upon request if you want to read her fic. :)
