Looking for happy!fic, soulbinding!fic please?
I've just read a ton of angst-filled fics, and am in desperate need of fics with happy endings. Give me your schmoop, your glee, your happy - Winchesters. Or Jsquared, I'm not picky. Except that I prefer slash, and I like Wincest, but gen is fine too. I just want the guys to be happy. Seriously - just happiness. Dean could get out of hell whole and well, or he and Sam could just be playing around, or Jared and Jensen could do the playing. I want to read a fic where I don't feel like I want to wrap them in bubble wrap my arms and protect them from the world. Or each other, or anything.

I'm also looking for any other soul-binding fics; I remembered this one, and how it was happy. There have to be more out there.

Long fics, short fics, self-pimps, anything; I want it all. As long as it ends happily.

Little Black Book (http://jeyhawk-fic.livejournal.com/36323.html) by jeyhawk_fic is adorable... makes me go "Awwwh!" every time I read it :)

I wrote a really fluff-tastic wee!chesters fic here (http://stopwatch-plz.livejournal.com/96724.html), but not sure if that's what you're after..?

^_^

Soul-binding, with Dean being funny, Sam being smart, both boys being strong and serious and amazing, and all kinds of magical schmoopy Wincesty love:

Communion (NC-17, Wincest)

I was just about to request this. The past two days I've read nothing but heartbreaking big bang fics, so I really need something happy to lighten the mood!
[identity profile] strokeof-genie.livejournal.com on June 30th, 2008 12:38 am (UTC)
Yes, exactly! I just want fic that doesn't make my heart hurt once I'm done with it.

Nice icon, by the way. :D

Did you read "We Know Each Other as We Always Were"?
It was amazing. Really sad, but possibly my favorite fic ever written. In the history of ever. Once you're in a better mood, I'd really recommend it (and then maybe save some of these to help make you happy again).

Thanks!

Gale Harold was my first true love :D
I met him last year... it was amazing.

I, uh, would really like to read it, but. See, I just don't understand death fics. I don't understand why people write them. I just - I can admit that there are a lot of them that are very well-written, but I can't find them enjoyable. I'm sure it's because of personal experiences, so. I guess that if I care about a character enough to read a fic, I'm emotionally attached enough to get hurt when they die. Like, I recently read a fic where Sam gets hurt and they have to stop hunting, and Sam finishes his education and Dean becomes a third grade teacher. And they're respected in a small town and they're happy, and then Dean gets hit by a car and dies. I loved the fic, and enjoyed it, and then that just hurt so bad. That was the main reason for the plea for recs, actually. I wanted to forget that fic existed.

Like, like, OK. Don't get me wrong, because it was beautifully written and in character - I just. I can't really handle death fics. *fragile*

NEVERMIND. I just cheated, like I do, and read the last part of the fic you just recced to spoil myself.

You met Gale Harold? He's doing plays, isn't he? To be honest, I haven't really kept up with him after QaF, but I'd love to hear that story.
[identity profile] out-0f-habit.livejournal.com on June 30th, 2008 06:13 am (UTC)
Haha, yeah I was going to private message you. I don't read death fics either, so I spoiled myself before reading it too. You should totally read the whole thing though, because it is made of win. I *hate* death fics. There's one called "We Were Twenty" that I really wish I could read, because everyone says it's amazing, but I just can't. (Actually, I don't know much about it, but that might be the fic you were just talking about!) But other than that fic, I really don't feel like I'm missing out on much. There are angsty fics that have happy endings, if I'm in the mood to cry or something. I don't need something that leaves me hollow and empty!

I'm not trying to insult those who read/write them, because a lot of them are incredibly well written and realistic- I just can't handle them. Enough family/friends in my life have died... I don't need my fictional characters to do it too!

Yeah, I saw Gale when he was doing Suddenly Last Summer in NYC. And I saw Randy do three plays, cause he does them right by me every summer.

Randy:

and I failed at updating about my other two encounters with him, and my time in NYC seeing SLS. But I'm actually kind of mad I forgot, so I'll write them and then send the links :)

YES. That's pretty much it. And when it comes down to it, in the show I'd rather they live, than die. Why would fics be any different?

I'm thinking I'll have to friend + be friended by you to see that entry, but that's cool, since I was thinking about doing that anyway. :D

Some gen, some slash - all adorable. Her one 'angsty' piece isn't even all that angsty. I particularly recommend the Bureacracy verse.
