About a year or so ago I stumbled upon an account (I think) that had a massive list of Dean-centric (I think hurtDean - maybe it was something like a hoodie-time kind of thing?) stories going back some years. I think it was mostly gen but not positive. There were so many authors and aaaall kinds of stories, case fics, curtin fics, adventure, au, h/c; all the show's characters were represented too, but it was all Dean focused, hurt, heroic and otherwise. I just pretty much started at the first and used the calendar and went through each date that had stories posted but I can't seem to find it. Maybe it was just a search function I somehow stumbled on but I am pretty sure it was a single account. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Is it real and if so can I be directed to it?

Hi everyone. I'm sorry that I've posted so much lately, I just had a question about a few fanfictions. First of all, in a lot of fandoms (Teen Wolf, White Collar), there's a master list that has fanfictions organized into categories so they're easy to find and you can look for specific themes. I was wondering if there's a master list for Supernatural. For example, there's be a tag called "baking" and in the tag, it'd be only fanficfions that involve baking. It'd be very helpful if someone could link me to it, if one exists!

If not, could you possibly just send me links of your favorite supernatural fanfictions? I'm only on season 6, though, so no spoilers! I'd prefer something with Dean/Sam and Jensen/Jared. I have been searching a lot of stories based on tags that are listed on this comm, however, I keep running into recs for more stories listed on Delicious (a lot of recommendations to go to lists there) but I have never been able to connect to one of the links. Is Delicious no longer available? I'd hate to lose access to what seems like a treasure load of stories.

I was wondering if anyone could guide me towards some good fics in this particular pairing, since there doesn't seem to be a lot on Ao3, and I really like the pairing. 2. This is probably a long shot, but I love our little prophet, and I was wondering if there were possibly any fics where Kevin Tran comes back. I'll take in any scenario, or context, and any pairing. The second part of this request is slightly weirder, but are there any fics where Kevin....goes back in time or something, and meets the younger version of the boys, or sees the events that unfolded in the boy's lives before he turned up? (bonus: coming face to face with Chuck, the old prophet.. or well God). I know this is a really long shot, but I've been really curious about if any fics like this existed for a really long time, so I thought I'd try.

3. Finally. I am looking for a community on livejournal that deals with angelcest fanfiction or just with fics about the angels in general. I know a community like this exists, because I came across it ages ago, but I just don't remember what it was called. I remember that it particularly had fics about Lucifer? (so maybe it was a community dedicated entirely for him?). Either way, it's probably a community that's not very active (or might even be abandoned), but I remember that it had some really good fanfics, so I'm curious if anyone can remember it.

The Delicious Bookmarking Service Is Dying

As many of you may have noticed, since Delicious was purchased and reverted to its terribly clunky format, Delicious's bookmarking service has become incredibly unstable, and often spends weeks at a time down. Tech support is 100% unresponsive, and their Facebook page hasn't been updated or responded to inquiries in about 9 months. What you may not have noticed is that they have disabled the ability for users to export their bookmarks. This means it's likely that tons of users bookmarks for thousands of fics are in danger of being lost forever unless something stops the site's current lurching, neglected spiral towards a total breakdown.

When I first entered the fandom, my gateway to tons of great fics came from users who had bookmarked them in Delicious. They are an incedibly precious resource and I have very strong panic attacks feels at the idea of them just vanishing at some point.

There Is An External Way To Backup Your Bookmarks

Right now del.icio.us is back up, and another Delicious user has figured out an external way to export your bookmarks. Over on Facebook, on the delicious page, user D.A. Gutierrez, (https://www.facebook.com/delicious/posts/10154393280717205) has figured out a workaround so people can download their bookmarks. He's offering to help export their links so they can back them up and/or import them to other bookmarking sites. I HIGHLY encourage folks to do this now, while they can.

Edit Your Tags Before You Export

Even whimpering its way toward an undeserved death, Delicious still has the most easy-to-use tag editing system. The one thing I discovered the hard way was that some bookmark systems interpret tags with spaces in them as separate tags. Which leads to a lot of grumpy editing with swearing, or at least it did on my part. Half an hour of checking your tags can save a lot of frustration later, unless you were smarter than me and did it the right way the first time.

Replacements For Delicious

As far as replacement services, there are two I found that most closely mirror what I loved about Delicious - Diigo and Pinboard. Each has pros and cons.

Diigo has a free level of service which is basically identical to Delicious, but allows for far fewer tags per post. So your bookmarks will be able to integrate seamlessly into Diigo but you lose ALL tags past the limited on each bookmark. The site is geared toward scientists and researchers, so you may feel a little weird letting your freak flag fly there, but... it's not bad. And the more folks who move over to it, the less weird it will feel.

Pinboard costs $11 a year and has its own quirks that are different from Delicious, so there is a pay barrier and some ramp-up time before you can get the hang of it. However, it allows for much more extensive tagging than Diigo, albeit with a much clunkier ability to change tags. For $25 it will also save a back-up copy of the bookmark page, which can be awesome, but... the backup engine is stymied by anything that has to be logged in for, so LJ entries and locked AO3 entries will not be backed-up properly, and links to masterposts will only give you a backup of the masterpost.

Ultimately, I went with Pinboard, but if you want to get a feel for the different flavors, you can check out my lists on all three services: Del.icio.us / Diigo / Pinboard.

I was reading from a rec list and lost the page/history when my browser crashed, so I'm trying to find it again.
It was a larger, AU masterlist, i think it was rps specific. It was on lj, and had an image with words something like "this might be a blog" at the top. I think it hadn't been updated in a few years?

You can nominate any fan site for preservation. You don't need the owner/operators permission but I would for courtesy's sake. They should contact AO3 to save their sites so we can enjoy them forever. Hi guys, I've been having a bit of a problem lately. I cannot load any page from the samdean archive. I've already tried to use different phones, computer - yet nothing works. Is any of you having the same problem? Is there a way to solve it? (or is it - hopefully - just temporary?)
I know there has been similar entry two or so weeks ago but they apparently managed to solve it but it haven't worked for me.
I don't want to spread panic or anything, I just want to know whether the problem is on my side or something else :( I may be going a little bit crazy...

I'm really sorry if this isn't the right place to post this, but I didn't know where else to go. I periodically head over to the sam dean slash archive - samdean.archive.nu - to read some favourite stories that I've never found anywhere else online. Sylvanwitch, and Jassy to name but a couple of Authors.
In particular I'm obsessive about Jassy' "learning to breathe" stories, and her "regrets series" and "Finding home" and several others that aren't available on archive of our own, or anywhere else I'm aware of.
I was on samdean archive just last week, and all seemed fine, but it's been down, with only an error message showing for the last 3-4 days, nad I'm beginning to get panicky. What if this is permanent?? How will I survive without reading any on the stories I'd favourite there ever again????
Does anyone have any news?
Or at the very least know where I can find the Jassy stories and sylvanwitch stories that aren't saved on archive of my own?
Someone please preserve my sanity. I cannot live in a world where these stories are lost forever!

Alright, so I've just updated my movie remake comm spnremakes and it made me want to start another project.  So, i'm putting together a master list of all the amazing science fiction stories that our fandom has created. Apocalypse, Alternatre Histories, Zombies, Superheros/Powered up boys, time travel, Aliens... whatever fits in the sci-fi realm.   I've gone through every list, comm, and author that I know writes sci-fi but I don't want to miss anything!  So, please rec me any and all sci fi!!  Any pairing, SPN or RPF, any rating!  If you have a great rec list, or know an author who writes a lot of sci-fi, lead me their way!!   There can be crossovers, but the story needs to have one of the SPN/RP characters as a main character.

I was wondering if anyone could point me some J2 rec lists that are still (reasonably) active? It can be anything, really: tumblr, lj, someone-who-bookmarks-too-much-on-ao3 (like me haha), someone-who-recs-sometimes-on-lj/tumblr, delicious etc etc:)

I know the j2 library (on tumblr), I know the awesome j2_recs compilation by simplebeing, I know that the crack impala still recs j2 sometimes, but I don't know many more that are still active.

I'm looking for a list of Sam/Dean recs that was on someone's livejournal that I've now lost the link to.  Given the age of the stories I remember being on that list, I'm guessing it was made sometime before 2009.  The rec list was just a list of names of stories, with no descriptions or other information.  There was a lot astolat on the list.

I know it's a longshot to ask for help here, but there are a lot of stories on that list that I haven't saved the link to elsewhere, so I'm worried I'll never be able to find them again without that list.

We were able to renew the domain name at the last minute, so sinful desire should not go offline. The site administrator is looking into more permanent options, but we're still asking that writers continue to back up their fic just in case.

The hosting space has been paid through Dec 2016. The domain name has been renewed through March 17, 2016.

Just a quick update:  We have not heard from the site owner in a while but are still hopeful. The hosting space has been paid for through 2016, however the site domain expires on March 17, 2015. It is set to auto renew but we don't know if it will go through. In the meantime, I have admin acess to the site and have backed up the mysql tables and files. However we're suggesting that writers backup their stories - even better that they consider moving them to A03. I was able to send an email to all the authors using the sinful desire email interface to let them know the site may go down and they should backup their fic. We'll continue to post announcements here.

I heard about the possibility of sinful-desire being taken down and I'm really sad about it. I'm scrambling to save the fics that I've read and loved and the ones I was thinking of reading. So I'm making this post to make sure I haven't missed any good fics.

Could you guys rec me any and all of your favourite fics from the website? It doesn't matter how long/short, what kinks, etc. I even read death fics and extremely angsty ones. All self-recs are welcome too. My only requirement is that the fic be bottom!Sam or bottom!Jared if there is any sex (because I don't read anything else). You can even rec your favorite exclusive bottom!Sam/Jared authors if you have any. I hope you guys can link me to many good fics.

I have just read the very bad news some posts down that http://www.sinful-desire.org/ might be shut down on March 15th. I think this would be a very heavy blow for all of us.

I have just started to become familiar with the site and now I would like to copy and paste as many stories as possible that aren't to be found anywhere else. The problem is, I really don't know where to start since there is such a myriad of great-looking stories there and time is rather short. I would start with the top ten lists there but beyond that I really don't know. So I thought I would come to you for your input.

Could you please give me your recs for stories there that you think are awesome and should be read? Please only J2 or stories where Sam and Dean aren't brothers. Or regular Sam/Dean when you think the story is so awesome that even someone not normally into Wincest should give it a shot.

Hi guys, this is a further update to the status of http://www.sinful-desire.org/  [You can reference to our last post here.]

So when we last updated you, we were able to reach the owner of the site in time and get permission formorgandawn to pay the $120 hosting fee in time. So the sinful-desire's hosting fees have been paid through December 2016. We were waiting to hear back from the archivist if she has plans to allow the archive to be managed by someone else (hopefully with a knowledge of e-Fiction, the software the site uses) or have it hosted at A03 but hadn't heard back yet.

We now face a new issue that we knew was approaching, the domain name is up for renewal. Only the registered owner is allowed to pay the fee. We're trying to work with the the archive owner and the webhost/domain registrar to renew the domain name, but if that is unsuccessful, then the site could go down on March 17, 2015.

The only action item at this point is if you are an author or a reader, please take steps to ensure your work or your favorite stories are backed up. A SIGNAL BOOST of this message would be appreciated to spread the word so folks can grab what they need.
More news when/if we have it.

A few years ago I came across a community called Slashed, I think on their icon it was spelled S\ashed. It was an LJ community devoted to reviewing fanfiction based on a star system I think. It was only for Supernatural and Sherlock fics, and I think it was only Dean/Castiel and John/Sherlock. I lost the link when my computer crashed, and I haven't been able to find it back. If anyone has a link to the community or any information about it, I would be very grateful.

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but there is (was?) a really good archive called Sinful Desires. It's a .org site that people post Sam/Dean and Jared/Jensen stories on. It had a lot of good stories too and I have a bunch of links for stories on it , but when I went to visit it tonight I only saw the site for a few seconds before it redirected to some random ad. The site has never done this before (it was also working fine Monday night) and I was wondering if anybody else was having the same problem. I know the person who runs the website hasn't posted an update them self in a while (the last was to say they were renewing the site a year ago) and that the site is mostly paid for through donations. Really hope it isn't gone for good. :(

I saw a VERY recent SPNStoryfinders entry with the title: "Looking for some specific blindfold_spn fics!"
The author had been looking for some blindfold _spn kink meme fics that they found on someone's delicious account. One of the commentator had told them that they just needed to join the community to be able to read the fics that they searched for. One of the searches was:
Sam/Dean.
Sam gets de-aged to around 13 with his memories intact. Dean's reluctant to continue their relationship at first, but can't resist Sam.

So, I looked up that fic, read it and came back to the post to look at the summaries of the other fics they were searching for but the entry was deleted. I read the summary of all the fics before the entry was gone and I was really interested in finding them but, I don't exactly remember the summaries. So, if any of you remember the summaries or if you are the author that posted the entry, could be give the summaries mentioned in the post? I would really love to read the fics.
I remember that most of the fics (there were 5 or 6) were wincest (weecest, specifically) and most of them were bottom!Sam and sounded like PWP, if that helps?

1. I'm looking for any and all Dean/Cas tattoo fics. I've already read the Worthless!Verse by basiacat and I've wandered through the kink: tattoo and body mod tag but it's heavily J2 and Wincest and that's not what I'm after.

For Lent, I've given up having my laptop in bed with me after 10 p.m. Eep! I am allowed to have my Nook says my wife, so I can still read fic as long as I'm not online. I need to download fic to my Nook, which AO3 makes easy as pie. What's not so easy? Wading through the thousands upon thousands of fic there. Even with filtering, there are too many fics to possibly figure out what to read. That's where y'all come in!
